Marriage

Never Married Before:

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGMENT!!

We are excited to be able to share in the your preparation for the celebration of marriage.

If you have never been married before the first step is to schedule an appointment with a Priest. During this Prenuptial Examination several questions will be asked to both the bride and groom to ensure that you both are ready to be wed. There is no documentation that is needed for this appointment, you both simply need to be present.

After the appointment we will review the requirements of pre-marital Sacrament preparation that will be needed, review the fees and the date of the wedding can be reserved for a $100 non-refundable deposit.

To schedule your appointment please contact:
Erica L. Gomez
Administrative Assistant II to the Priest

It is important that before a reception location be reserved that you first schedule your wedding ceremony.

Previously Married:

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGMENT!!

We are excited to be able to share in your preparation to give and accept the promises of marriage.

If you have been married civilly to someone else before other than your current fiancé, the first step is to schedule an appointment with a Priest to complete a Defect of Form. This document is needed to ensure the previous marriage has been nullified.

For the person who has previously been married, please be sure to bring the following documents to your appointment:
1. Baptismal Certificate newly issued
2. Marriage License of previous marriage
3. Divorce Decree

Note that a wedding date cannot be set until an affirmative decision is granted by the Office of Canonical Services.

To schedule your appointment please contact:
Erica L. Gomez
Administrative Assistant II to the Priest

**If you were previously married in the Catholic Church, the formal annulment petition must be filed.
